Electromagnetism Rocks

Okay, so my physics classes have always really sucked, and this semester is no exception, but I have to admit that some of the stuff we learn is pretty cool.
Imagine what it must have been like to be some scientist in the 19th century messing around with equations. You've got some equations that describe how magnets interact, and a lot of these equations have this convenient constant in them. You've also got some equations that describe how charged particles like protons and electrons interact, and a lot of those equations have some other convenient constant.
So, just for kicks, one day you decide to throw together the magnetic constant and the electrical constant, and lo and behold you get the speed of light. How cool is that. Now granted, that's not exactly how it happened, but still. It was just so totally out of the blue that light had anything to do with magnets and electricity. I, at least, find that pretty darn cool.
